“God is so faithful!  I don’t understand why we get it wrong so often.  This morning I realized who I’m going to marry!  I have never been so confident of something in my life, he is perfect, and the funny thing is my family has known for years.  God has tried to show me so many times before and I was too stubborn to listen.  I really think he knows or God is showing him, so I think I’ll be married soon!”

Obviously Wayne is not perfect (blind love LoL) but I do believe he is perfect for me.  I love reflecting back to God’s faithfulness and plan over our lives.  I can remember that night so vividly and while I don’t journal as much as I should, I’m so glad I have these pages to remember and share with our children.

My sister told me a couple years before she knew who I was going to marry.  I rolled my eyes and said who is it now?  She laughed and said I don’t want to tell you.  She was so sure she didn’t want to ruin anything.  Though I thought she was totally insane it always stayed in the back of my mind.

In 2001 Wayne was a first year teacher at our High School when I was a senior.  My younger sister had him for math as a freshmen.  One afternoon I went into his classroom while she was making up a test and tried to make small talk because I had never spoke to him before.  By the way he never looked up from the test he was grading.  Anyway, I didn’t think anything of it and when we were walking out the door, Jolene was mortified.  She said “I can’t believe you were flirting with my teacher!”  Honest to goodness I had no idea what she was talking about, I was just trying to be nice but she was so embarrassed.  So needless to say I didn’t speak to him again because I didn’t want anyone else to misinterpret my motives.  So when Jessica says a couple years later she knows who I’m going to marry and it was him, I thought she was crazy!

I haven’t read though my journal in years.  It’s so much fun to see where we have come from.  This is the first post of several to come over the next few weeks.  The back story leading up to this date will be next, our first date, how God lead us to marriage and what that looks like now.
