When we moved into our house, the first room I really wanted to change was the kitchen. It was dark and I love light and airy. It originally had wallpaper and that was the first to go. I’m sorry I don’t have a before of it. One winter holiday I decided to tear it all out and paint it my favorite color, Sherwin Williams Sea Salt.
It still wasn’t bright enough, so on another break I painted all the cabinets with Dixie Belle Fluff. I love this stuff because you don’t have to sand or prime and I didn’t even take the cabinet doors off. It took 2 weekends to complete and I sealed it with their satin clear coat. The after picture is today 3 years after I painted them and they still look great. It was definitely the easiest kitchen I’ve ever painted (this makes number 5). I did take the hardware off and spray paint them so they looked a little more updated.
This week we have installed engineered vinyl plank from Lumber Liquidators. Overall it has been a pretty simple install, minus the door frames, they are a little tricky. I love the way it has turned out. I guess my only other dream for this room would be to knock out the wall you can’t see where the stove is. This would make our kitchen twice as big and allow all seven of us to be able to cook or work together. A girl can always dream right?!
I can’t believe this is the same space! I’ll be honest I was super nervous when Wayne and I had to move the refridgerator, so glad thats over. We only have a small area left and I can’t wait to be finished. What space in your home are you working on or would like to change?
